Liz Chesarek is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist physical therapist specializing in treatment and rehabilitation of orthopedic and sports-related injuries with a strong background in dance and working with the performing artist. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, PA.

Prior to Druid Hills PT, Liz has worked at Northside Hospital outpatient rehab services and Sovereign Rehab, as well as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) Sports Medicine Department. While at CHOA she developed the Childrens Adolescent Dance Medicine Program, served as the Hip Mentor for the CHOA Sports Residency Program, and primary Sports Mentor for the CHOA Pediatric Residency Program. Liz has worked independently with tours including Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance and the Alvin Ailey II company as well as works for Atlanta Dance Medicine and assists in physical therapy services for the Atlanta Ballet.

As an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), she has served as Board Member for the Orthopedic Section Performing Arts Special Interest Group (PASIG) Nominating Committee and Membership Chair. Also, a current member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS).

Professional expertise and interests include injury prevention and rehabilitation of dancers and performing artists, adolescent athletes, yoga, cupping, dry needling, IASTM and blood-flow restriction.

Her hobbies include trying new foods and restaurants with her husband, practicing yoga, reading, and cross stitching.
